| 02.11.2011 | | 2nd Congress of STA held in Nis |
| Second Congress of Serbian Association of trauma (STA 6-8.10.2011) in Nis, successfully completed the unexpectedly large number of participants – 520. Most were doctors from the Orthopedic Surgery but there were other surgical branches (general surgery, neurosurgery, urology, plastic surgery, etc.). There were 12 distinguished guests from abroad who have held lectures. Congress participants were trauma and many others from Europe and the former Yugoslav republics. Our experts have presented very good results as well. It was nice to see that our doctors are very advanced in terms of skills and oral presentation strict adherence to the time allotted for presentations and discussion. The participation of many young doctors promises a nice future of Serbian traumatology.
A rich social program allowed the continuation of professional and friendly communication. A number of physicians realised direct conversation with the guests from abroad.
During the conferences were held the Assembly of our Associations (STA and SOTA) and association for shoulder and elbow, and two preparatory meetings which will be subsequently notified. At the meeting of the STA on the agenda, among other things, were representation of treatment protocol for femoral neck fractures and open fractures protocol and rich discussion about it. It was decided that the proposed protocols to be put on the web site for discussion and the conclusions that meet all the relevant institutions. It will soon be done. SOTA Assembly was the election and on that occasion, the same president was re-elected Mark Bumbasirevic as well as the Presidency.
